Teacher Gift ...

I'm over on the Meljen's Designs Blog today sharing something that inspires me. Truth be known, I am constantly inspired by what I see daily in Blog Land. Today's project was inspired by An Elegant Note Book that I saw on the Penny Black's Blog earlier this month.

I am always looking for creative gifts to make for my daughter Katie's teacher, and this post inspired me to create a book.

I printed the Meljen's Checkered Apple Frame that I turned into a chalkboard for the cover. It was perfect for a teacher. Fran's name was applied with Alpha White Rub-ons, and lines were added underneath with a White Gelly Roll Pen.

Here is the book opened up.

I printed a couple "Just a Note" sheets and cut them down to put inside for this picture. I will be sending the file to my husband at work to print about 20 more pages for me.

Now I only have about 7-more educational gifts to make before the school year ends!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Ingredients:  Neenah Solar White & Recollections Black cardstock, DCWV the Mademoiselle Stack DP, Teresa Collins Bracket Covers, Martha Stewart Scoreboard, 1/4" Scoretape, Tombow Acqua Liquid Glue & Fastener Tabs, Copic Markers, JoAnn Craft Essentials White Alphabet Rub-ons, AMS Washi Tape.

Sassy Sponsorship ...

Sassy Studio Designs is Sponsoring this weeks Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge #116 ~ Favorite Color. Now I don't really have a favorite color, but I do have a couple color combinations that I love how they look together.  So here goes ...

Black, Red & White

With that in mind I pulled out the Sassy French Maid for my design. She was colored with my Copic Markers and cut out. I added some sparkle to her nylons and the mesh of the top part of her outfit, and then added some dots to her nylons.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC.

How about a closer look at our Sassy French Maid ...

Thinking of Spring ...

is Sponsored by The Stamping Chef and Eureka Stamps.

This week we want to see you "Wrap it Up" with Twine, String or Fibers of any kind.

I had the privilege of choosing one of Eureka's stamps this week, and picked this lovely Butterfly & Sunflower (digi20801).  After printing two of these beauties I pulled out my Copic Markers and Distress Inks. I wanted to see the butterfly in flight so I colored the extra one and cut it out!  I pulled the colors from my image for the cardstock/DP and twine that I used for today's card.  Final step was to add some Crystal Stickles to the flowers.

Head on over to the Love to Create Blog to see what the rest of the designers created, and for all the details about this week's Sponsor Prizes.

I hope you join us this week.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Masculine card ...

Just popping in to share the card I made for my nephew Thomas' birthday.  He's celebrating his 33rd birthday today, and I've been waiting to hear that he received my card before I posted it here and on FB.

Today's card features the Lighthouse Digital Stamp that I picked up a while back from Designed 2 Delight (know know as From the Heart). The image is perfect for a masculine card. The Lighthouse was colored with my Copic Markers, and then cut out, and layered together with DP from My Mind's Eye & Fancy Pants.

My design is based on the current From The Heart Sketch No. 6.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Happy Birthday ...

Good morning! We are in the midst of another winter storm here in Northern Illinois. I'm hoping that the predictions stay true to the 7" mark, and that we don't get the 14" as others did. If you have to travel, please stay safe!

My lovely daughter, Katie, turns 21 this year in April. Boy does time fly! Thinking of Birthday's, this weeks QKR Stampede Challenge #27 is to create a Birthday Card with a number.  That means add a number to your card design!

(Size: 6-1/4" x 3-1/4")

For today's card I used the adorable Flying Girl Holder (ESdigi21701) and Kite (ESdigi22205).  I colored the girl and kite, with my Copic Markers, in Katie's favorite colors - red and blue. To add dimension to her outfit I used a White Gelly Roll pen in several areas.  Both images were cut out, and layered on my design based on the Freshly Made Sketch #74.  The Twinery Twine was used for the kites string and bows, and I cut a lit between her hands to feed the twine thru.  My #21 is a little hard to see on the kite ... they are red circle stickers with the number 2 and 1 on them. Final step was the sentiment on the bottom.

Here is the sketch ...

Now I know for sure that the rest of the Design Team projects for this week are WOW! So head on over to the QKR Blog, check out their creations, and then join in the FUN!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Play on ...

Good morning! It's time for a NEW Meljen's Designs Challenge, and Meljen's Design is also Sponsoring the Moving Along with the Times Challenge this week. I combined both challenges for today's card.

(use Polka Dots in your creation)

I used this awesome image called Rockin' Guitar. I was going for a masculine card but it ended up being more feminine! LOL! That's okay, I know some teenager's who might like this one.

The polka dots DP is actually Washi Tape from Recollections that contained the matching stripes. Antique Linen & Picked Raspberry Distress Ink was applied around the guitar, and the sentiment and musical notes are from the Glee Stamp Set from Technique Tuesday.

Make sure you check out both of today's Challenge Blogs to see the inspiration that each Design Team created. Head on over to Meljen's Designs Blog and Moving Along with the Times Blog for more information on how you can win some awesome Meljen's Stamps, and then come join the FUN!

White Wedding ...

This is my second post today, please scroll down for the
Love to Create Challenge # 53 ~ All that Glitters

Sassy Studio Designs is Sponsoring a NEW Challenge Blog for the first time. Allow me to present Creative Creations Challenges! Challenge #4 is "Sing it to Me".

The first song that came to mind when I saw the Challenge is "White Wedding by Billy Idol". I know several couples who will be going to the alter soon and was also thinking of the current Romance Challenge over at Sweet Stamps Blog. These challenge were a perfect combination!

This lovely lady is called Garter Sassy, and she is perfect for a Wedding or Bridal Shower card!  I used my Copic Markers to color this beauty, used a Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen to go over the seams of her dress and veil, and her shoes, used Memento London Fog to add the lovely design to her stocking with a flourish stamp from the Calm & Gentle stamp set (CAS-ual Fridays), and the final touch was to add the pearls to her veil.

Now for a close-up of Garter Sassy ...

Copic Markers: E000, E00, E02, E35, RV29, R20, BV02, E19, YR24, YR21, Y21, B06, W0, W00, E41, R000, 0

The background was created with the Allegro Embossing Folder from Cuttlebug, DeNami White/Iridescent 5/8" Ribbon & Sweetheart Button that I sewed w/needle & sheer thread to the card, and then I used 3D Foam Squares to add the whole design to my cardbase.

For more inspiration head on over to the SSD Blog, then pop on over to the Creative Creations Challenge Blog for all the details on how you can win some lovely Sassy Studio Designs stamps!

I'll be sharing this card with Sweet Stamps for their Romance Challenge, and Simon Says White on White Challenge.

Until next time ... Enjoy!

A Sweet Friendship ...

Good morning! It's Monday and that means the start of a new Love to Create Challenge.

is Sponsored by A Day for Daisies

I was lucky enough to create a card with the adorable image called A Lap Full of Kittens.  I printed two copies of the image, colored one with my Copic Markers and fussy cut it out to pop on the other copy once I cut it down to the size I wanted for my card.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC.

It's a little hard to see the sparkle on my card ... I used a Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen to add some sparkle to the shadowing on her dress and the yarn.  This picture only shows the sparkle on her dress. :(

My design is based on the Freshly Made Sketch #73.

There are so many awesome projects that the other LTC Designer's created so hop on over to the LTC Blog, and then join in the FUN by sharing your project that Glitters!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Crafting for FUN ...

Good evening. After getting caught up with things around the house I decided to create a little just for FUN. I'll be sharing 2-different cards for different challenges in this post.

First up is for the From the Heart January FREE Stamp of the Month Challenge.

I used a couple of the stamps from the Cupcake Lineup stamps set for this one ~ Cupcake Curve and Fat Free Sentiment. The DP is from the Hootenanny DP from My Mind's Eye. I paired it up with some Emma's Paperie Ribbon, and Violet cardstock from Stampin' Up.

The next card combines a couple of Challenges ~ CAS-ual Friday's Challenge #90, Black & White + 1 ~ Unity {be inspired} February Challenge ~ Friday Mashup #97, Pull out those Markers.

I pulled out my Unity Dec 2012 KOTM for this one. The flower with the sentiment in the background is one stamp I will be using a lot. I then used another stamp from the KOTM for the background, and added a sentiment from Casual Fridays Calm & Gentle Stamp Set. The flowers were colored with my Copic Markers (YR21 & YR31).  I think I'll be making a set of cards like this one, but I'll use a different color contrast color.

The design for my card was inspired by the Sketch provided by Unity
that I took a little liberty with.

The color scheme was based on the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #90.

I love coloring with my Copic Markers, so I'm also going for The Friday Mashup Challenge #97.

Well that all for me tonight!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Rainbow Bright ...

Today is the start of a new Corrosive Challenge.  This fortnight we have the amazing Kenny K Downloads as our Sponsor for Challenge #168, which is called "Rainbow Bright"!  We want to see you use your favorite color combination!

This is my first time working with one of Kenny K's stamp, and I truly fell in LOVE!  This beauty is called Freshman.  She was colored with Copic Markers favoring Pinks & Blues, cut out and popped onto my design that features the colors I pulled out from my image, and the sentiment is from Create with TLC.

I go thru phases on what colors I use so who know what will be my favorite next month. :D

How about a closer look at the Freshman ...

Copic Markers: E000, E00, E11, R20, B04, BV23, B60, E37, E35, E53, E51, E50, B12, B06,
 RV69, RV66, RV34, RV32, RV10

This lovely Freshman has so much sass that I had to add some shimmer to her bracelet with a Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen, and pop a gem on her chain.

Come and share your favorite color combination with us on The Corrosive Challenge Blog for a chance to win some absolutely awesome Kenny K Downloads!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

Green with Envy Blog Hop, Part 1 ...

Good morning, and Welcome to the "Green with Envy" Sassy Studio Designs Blog Hop.  I am the first stop for today's Blog Hop, so if you arrived from the SSD Blog you are in the right place.  For a complete list of today's participants please check out the SSD Blog.

This months Blog Hop is a little different. There won't be new images because Lindsay is having computer issues. Instead the SSD Designers decided to host a Blog Hop featuring their "Favorite" Sassy image, and to incorporate green somewhere on their project.

It was very hard to choose just one (1) favorite Sassy image, as I truly love them all. So I chose the lovely Miranda Sassy for today's project. All of the Sassy in the City Ladies are a favorite of mine, but I could only use one of them.  Miranda was given a lovely tan to complement her green dress and shimmery green shoes, and my design is based on the Deconstructed Sketch #89.

Here's a closer look at Miranda ...

Copic Markers: E00, E13, E11, E21, R20, R14, BV23, B60, E35, YR24, YR23, YR21, Y21, YR31, G00, G14, G06, G19
Now for a look at the sketch I used ...

I am entering today's card to the Deconstructed Sketch Challenge #89.

Now it wouldn't be a Blog Hop without a Prize! For this month's Blog Hop you will have a chance to WIN the image used by each of the Designer's today and tomorrow. All you have to do is leave some love on each stop along the Hop!

For commenting on my blog the winner will receive the lovely Miranda Sassy to add to you very own Sassy Collection.  The winners will be announced Wednesday, February 20th on the Sassy Studio Designs Blog.

Your next stop for Day 1 of the Blog Hop is ... Jodi.

Thank you for hopping with us this weekend!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

... Happy Birthday ...

This is my second post today, please scroll down for the
QKR Stampede Challenge #26 ~ Anything Goes!

Sassy Studio Designs is Sponsoring today's Challenge over at Card Makin' Mamas. The Challenge this week is ... Happy Birthday.

This is my first time using China Honey from the Small World Honey Collection 2.  She is so pretty, and I had fun coloring her with my Copic Markers. I love how she turned out, and the On the Bright Side Two DP from My Mind's Eye had the perfect DP to complement China Honey.  Add in a little bling, and layer all the pieces together for a pretty CAS card.

Now hop on over to the SSD Blog to check out what the other Designer's created to inspire you, then head over to Card Makin' Mamas for all the details on how to enter to win some amazing Sassy Studio Designs Stamps!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

... Gardening Journal ...

Good morning.  I hope each of you had a marvelous week. Me, it's been kinda crazy. I forgot about Katie's Valentines for her classmates, and rushed out Wednesday to get the sweet treats to wrap. Spent most of the week going thru paperwork so the hubby can do our taxes this weekend. Running late on this also. :D

I was really happy that this weeks QKR Stampede Challenge #26 is "Anything Goes"!  My project today showcases a Custom Order for our very own QKR Stampede Owner Maribeth Douglas.  She is starting / switching up her Garden this year and asked us Designers if anyone would be interested in creating a Gardening Journal for her back in January. I volunteered, and here is what I created.

The Gardening Journal was created with October Afternoon's Here & Now Book - Grow.  The adorable young girl is from QKR Stamped, and is called Gardener (digi12403).  I knew she would be perfect for Maribeth's Journal! She was colored with Copic Markers, cut out and layered on the covered book cover.

For the inside of the journal I used the Cakewalk Here & Now Chapter from October Afternoon (OA).  I covered the Chapters with DP from OA, used some stamps in my stock, and other OA Products ... Farm Girl Word Stickers ... Farmhouse Rub-ons ... Woodland Park 8x8 Paper Pad , and various 12x12 DP by OA.

This next Chapter contains QKR Stampede's Garden Grow Sentiment (digi12407) that I framed and added to this Chapter.

There are pages inside the Chapters that she can add photo's, notes, etc. so I decided to create some journalling cards for her to use.

The DP is from OA, and some scraps I had laying around. I used Neat & Tangled Swirly Twirly Tags stamps, along with This Life by Ali Edwards (Technique Tuesday).

This was the first time I have attempted this type of project. I had a blast making the Journal! Maribeth received her package in the mail last week, and I know that she truly LOVES it!  The package I sent Maribeth also contained the stickers, rub-on's, and a couple other items that I didn't use on the Journal.

Both of the stamps I used are available in Digital and Red Rubber format in the QKR Stampede Store.

The rest of the QKR Designer created some gorgeous projects to share with you today, so please hop over to the QKR Blog to check them out, and then come join the FUN!

Whew! That was a little long, even for me, but I thank you for staying with me! :D

Until next time ... Enjoy!

... My Craft Corner ...

Good morning! A couple weeks ago I asked my father-in-law to make a shelf to go on my craft table.  I received the shelf 2-weeks ago, and had to rearrange my Craft Corner as the shelf was larger that I requested.  It's all good. Since I had to clean in order to rearrange my Craft Corner I took some pictures.

My Craft Corner is located in my basement, and is a mix of items.

My NEW Shelf, that I absolutely love!

I love that I now have all my go-to products right in front of me.

One of the only downfalls about having my Craft Corner in the basement is that I can't leave my Copic Markers there because of the coldness. I have them in a storage container that can be moved to the first floor.

The old spice rack in the corner was emptied, painted, and holds buttons ... brads ... stick pins, and I have my Want2Scrap Bling in the black basket on top of the spice rack.

The sign in the corner says Parking for Rebel's Only.  I saw the sign a couple years ago and picked it up for my son, and he didn't take it when he moved out.

The white shelving on the left side holds ribbon and an assortment of inks that I rarely use, while the plastic rolling shelf holds my punches, embossing stuff, stickles, and the bottom drawer holds my DeNami Design stamps. The Blue Tray on top of the white shelving was painted by my daughter, and I put a plastic bin inside it to hold all of the other bling I have.

The black shelf was picked up at Target, and I filled it with storage containers that hold all my Clear Stamps, miscellaneous rubber stamps, Unity Stamps, Washi Tape, 6x6 pads of DP, Embossing Folders, etc.

The white shelf was another item my father-in-law made.  I have an assortment of contains on the top that will be recycled. The closed doors hold my Neenah Solar White cardstock and envelopes, while the shelves have an assortment of products plus all of my PaperCrafts Magazines.

Even though we have central heat, it doesn't heat the basement much when it's really cold out ... reason for the electric heater that looks like a radiator.

This is our covered pool table that has not been used in many years.  I love that I can spread out here when working on big projects, and when I have friends over to craft we can all work around the table.  You can see my Cuttlebug, and I keep my dies that I regularly use in the binder located right in front of them. My paper cutter is in the lower left corner, and my photo tent is at the top of the picture.

Well that is it. I truly love that I can get away from everyday life when I enter this part of my house. I can craft while the laundry is going, and it's a great place to hide out.  Katie visits me regularly, but doesn't stay for long as all of her stuff is located in her bedroom.  The hubby pops in once in a while just to visit, talk, or just see what I'm working on.

Hope you enjoyed seeing where I create!

Until next time ... Enjoy!

... Feeling the Love ...

Good morning! I hope that those of you on the East Coast made it through the storm safely.  The 9" of snow that we received on Thursday is slowly disappearing due to the rain and temperatures being over 32 degrees Fahrenheit! Yahoo! Enough of that!

Today I have a new Love to Create Challenge to share with you.  This week as we move into our 2nd year of Challenges we are Feeling the Love!

The Sponsors for Challenge No. 52 are ...

My first card features the adorable Puppy Love stamp from Dearie Dolls! When I saw the image it brought to mind my son and his dog Winston ... they are the Best of Friends! I created a 3D effect with this adorable image. The hat and the puppies face was popped up with Mini Glue Dots and 3D Foam Squares. I added a tiny brad into the hat before attaching it. The sentiment is from Create with TLC, and my design is based on the Graphicat Sketch Challenge #21 (shown below).

My second card features the Sexy image called All Wrapped Up from Sassy Studio Designs! She is so Sexy, was super fun to color, and ohhh how I wish I had her figure! LOL! My design is based on CAS(E) this Sketch #13. For the life of me I don't know why I forgot to write down who the sentiment is from, but it fit perfectly inside the Fancy Framed Silver Rhinestones that I colored Red with a Copic Markers.

Here are the Sketches I used for today's cards ...

The other Designers created some lovely projects to inspire you, so I hope you'll head over to the Love to Create Blog to check them out, then join in the FUN by sharing your Feeling the Love Project!

I'm submitting the Best Friends Forever card to the Graphicat Sketch Challenge #21.

Until next time ... Enjoy!
