Water Color Note Cards ...

Good morning! Yesterday I shared my last project with you as a CutCardStock Designer. The last 6-months have flown by so quickly so I had to try my hand at using the Gansai Tambi Water Color Paint Set I picked up, and decided to make a set of Note Cards.

I wasn't sure which cardstock I had in-house would work the best for water coloring so I stamped several different images using Ranger Archival Jet Black Ink onto my cardstock. The first two cards feature a Lakeside Scene, and was stamped on the Esse White Pearl Cardstock (left) and on Basis Natural Cardstock (right).

I used the same colors for both cardstock to see how different the effect would be while water coloring. Both cards look awesome from my first try at water coloring with the Gansai Tambi Water Color Paint. I found that the Esse White Pearl Cardstock (left) doesn't absorb the water as quickly as the Basis Natural Cardstock (right). It requires more time for drying but I preferred the Esse White Pearl Cardstock, and chose to use that cardstock for the rest of my cards.

I went with flowers for the other cards I created with the Esse White Pearl Cardstock.

Once I finished the water coloring, I matted each of the images on the Moroccan Cocoa cardstock, and layered them onto the Brown Bag Invitations, and I added a layer of the Moroccan Cocoa and the Natural White cardstock on the inside of each card. I also stamped part of the images on the Brown Bag Kraft Envelope to create a matched set.

After I finished making my Note Cards I discovered that the Savory 100% Cotton Card Stock is the preferred cardstock by other designers for water coloring. Looks like I'll be picking some up so that I can continue to practice water coloring with the Gansai Tambi Water Color Paint Set.

In closing, I want to thank both Amber and Cindy for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this amazing Design Team and to expand my knowledge of CutCardStock.
